Library Media Teachers collaborate in lesson planning, teaching, and grading with all teachers on campus.  Any project that requires research should involve the library's resources.  Information literacy is taught as part of the curriculum; it cannot be separate.

For examples of some excellent programs in California, go to www.schoolibrary.org and click on Good Ideas under Publications

One example of minimal collaboration is the service I provide at Visalia Unified School District.  Go to http://visalia.k12.ca.us/library/collaboration for examples.

Maximal collaboration happens when a classroom teacher and a library media teacher decide together on lessons and share the duties of teaching students.
